Motorists will enjoy the freshly hard-topped road and driveways in Pickerel. The project took about five weeks to complete and will see savings on road maintenance, and most likely be easier on people’s vehicles.

Batchewana First Nationterritory - Members of Henvey Inlet First Nation got a sneak peek of the Nodin Kitigan project a day ahead of its grand opening. The trip took place September 28th, 2015. It was organized due to the curiosity of how wind turbines will look and sound in a landscape similar to HIFN #2.
Chief Wayne McQuabbie says, "the demand for housing is great in our community and now, on and off-reserve members have another option for housing."

Dec. 23/16 - Third party experts by Henvey Inlet First Nation gave the nod to the environmental assessment (EA) conducted by Aecom. However, they did give numerous recommendations, most of which, have been reflected in the presentation on December 15th to community members in Henvey Inlet First Nation.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has addressed the Assembly of First Nations in Gatineau, QC today. He promised to renew the relationship with First Nations.

Henvey Inlet First Nation - The baseball field in the community is getting a facelift – that’s thanks to a Trillium Foundation grant of $60,000.
HIFN had applied for the grant last year, which they were successful in receiving. However, leadership deferred the grant to be spent this year.

The Gas Bar Attendant reports to the Gas Bar Manager and is responsible for the sale of fuel and other automotive products and in-store merchandise, including tobacco products. The Gas Bar Attendant is also responsible for processing all point-of-sale transactions via cash, credit or debit card using an electronic scanner and cash register. This position requires a high level of personal integrity and superior customer service skills.

The Janitor reports to the Administration Manager and is responsible for cleaning all HIFN commercial buildings at the end of each business day. The Janitor will perform general cleaning duties including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning and stocking restrooms, washing walls and windows, cleaning the kitchen and fridge, disinfecting all high-touch surfaces and trash removal. This position requires strong self-motivation, great attention-to-detail and excellent time-management skills.
