Pickerel River Road gets face-lift
Motorists will enjoy the freshly hard-topped road and driveways in Pickerel. The project took about five weeks to complete and will see savings on road maintenance, and most likely be easier on people’s vehicles.
The project cost about $47,000 and was approved by Chief and Council in early October. Funding for the hardtop came out of the Casino Rama and Lands budgets. The earmarked funding paid for the asphalt material along with labour costs, equipment rental, construction and fuel costs. Two extra band members were hired for the one month construction phase.
