11th COVID 19 UPDATE June 4, 2020
If you've been watching the news lately it's apparent that COVID 19 is still a serious health threat. Having learned that Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario has extended the State of Emergency to June 30, 2020, we agree with this decision, and so these are the highlights of our recent meeting.

Condolences to the Solomon Family
To Tony's family, we send out our deepest condolences and share in your grief of the loss of such a wonderful man, father, grandfather, and leader.We were terribly saddened by the news of the passing of Councillor Tony Solomon on Thursday, May 28, 2020. This unexpected shocking news was a monumental loss by this community and to Council. We respect the wishes of the family and will definitely plan to have a celebration of life ceremony at the earliest convenience. We will definitely announce the future date that this is agreed upon with the family.

Re-Opening the Administration
The decision has been made NOT to reopen the Administration, but to continue to operate status quo. Currently, certain financial and health staff will be expected to continue to report to work on Tuesday through Thursdays to ensure essential services are provided. Chief and Council thank all those staff of HIFN who submitted their written suggestions/comments/concerns on how we possibly re-open. If you haven't done so already Chief and Council welcome those who may still want to submit their comment . -
Restricted Access (Roadblocks) Pickerel R Rd. and Bekanon Rd.
The security teams that are currently in place ensuring restricted access to both Pickerel, and Bekanon will remain in place, thank you for their cooperation respecting the directives that are being implemented for all our safety. -
Financial Report on COVID 19 Expenses to date
COVID 19 isn't without its financial impact and we're experiencing this first hand. To clarify the misconception of how we're funding this unprecedented time of our lives, a financial report has been prepared and is attached for your reference. We wish to invite anyone with questions or concerns with respect to how we're managing this pandemic to call our office on Tuesdays or Thursdays, as we will not be meeting with you in the near future, and we'll gladly answer any of your questions. -
New Garbage Pickup Days
The Key River Landfill site has implemented its summer hours of operation; please take note that garbage will now be picked up onMondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
