6th COVID 19 UPDATE - April 21, 2020
At our recent Emergency Council Meeting the latest COVID 19 statistical information was discussed and reports of our efforts to prevent the spread of this virus reevaluated. We realize that we are amid a season of traditional fishing activity, and with the warm weather sometimes upon us, we all want to get out and about. The following new directives were arrived upon.
- Restricted Access (Roadblocks) Pickerel R Rd. and Bekanon Rd.
We've learned that a Non-Member was transported into the community again this past weekend. Please be advised that our security teams are well within the authority granted to ask any unknown individual to produce identification if they do not recognize an individual and or passenger of a vehicle attempting to enter our community.
EVERYONE IS ADVISED THEY ARE NOT TO BRING ANY NONMEMBER INTO THIS COMMUNITY VIA A PRIVATE VEHICLE.
We cannot stress the importance of maintaining our security from the general public, potentially friends, family members that may have been exposed to this virus, and not even realize it. This virus is known to be carried by those who don't show any symptoms.
We also wish to remind members that if you've arranged for a ride/taxi and this person is a nonmember, they will not be allowed into the community, you will be expected to meet that vehicle at the security gate.

One Trip out of the community per day - AMENDED
We understand that we are amid the spawning season of smelts and pickerel. To accommodate those who want to go net or spear, we've amended this directive. Effective immediately, a member will be allowed out and in TWICE daily. This should allow those who want to go out during the day, and return, and then go out and return even after curfew for fishing purposes. Fishing is the only acceptance to the new flexibility with curfew. -
Closure of Pickerel River Trailer Park
The PRTP will not open the long weekend in May 2020. However, only members will be granted access to launch, and or park their boat there, in order to access their camps.
Please if you need to go out, ensure that's it for a good reason;
- To purchase groceries
- Pick up prescriptions
- Attend a medical appointment/procedure
It goes without saying now, but please always practice good hygiene, wash your hands, use sanitizer regularly, and social distance.
