Open Council and Community Input Meetings

The period for reviewing the Environmental Assessment reports and Environmental Protection Land Laws for the wind project is coming to a close soon. There have been informational mail outs which included forms for input and there have been open public meetings.

Community Members still have plenty of opportunity to provide feedback. There are a few more chances to have your say in open forums this month before leadership may issue the environmental permit for the wind project. 

Please note the dates below:

January 06, 2016– 1:00 pm @ the Fire Hall on Pickerel River Rd. HIFN Chief and Council will be holding an Open Council Meeting.

January 13, 2016– 1:00 pm @ the Fire Hall on Pickerel River Rd. HIFN Chief and Council will be holding an Open Council Meeting. Approval of final Environmental Assessment report.

January 24, 2016– 1:00 pm @ the Fire Hall on Pickerel River Rd. There will be a Community Input Meeting to review Draft environmental protection Land Laws.

January 26, 2016– 1:00 pm @ the Fire Hall on Pickerel River Rd. Council will be holding another Open Council Meeting on the decision to enact environmental protection land laws related to the wind project and issue an environmental permit.

Secondary School Bus Driver *RE-POST*

Henvey Inlet First Nation is currently seeking a Secondary School Bus Driver to join our Administration for a temporary, short-term contact for up to 6 months. The Secondary School Bus Driver reports to the Education Counsellor and is responsible for transporting students of various ages to and from their homes and respective schools in a timely and safe manner and in accordance with MTO driving regulations, Ontario Traffic Laws and safe driving practices.

Housing and Finance Assistant

Henvey Inlet First Nation is seeking a full-time Housing and Finance Assistant to join our Administration. The Housing and Finance Assistant reports to the Director of Finance/Administration and is responsible for coordinating preventative maintenance for all Band-owned housing units and supervising all housing maintenance and repairs. The Housing and Finance Assistant receives and reviews all housing applications and inquiries, and, in collaboration with the Housing Committee, recommends tenants to Chief and Council for vacant units in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth in the Housing Policy.

Henvey Inlet First Nation is seeking a qualified full-time Early Childhood Education Worker to join our Administration. The ECE Worker reports to the Daycare Supervisor and is responsible for providing supervision and direct childcare to children attending the HIFN Daycare, in compliance with all regulatory standards required by federal, provincial and First Nations legislation, policies and procedures.
